A Mango Street Vendor circles with his cart a roundabout found on the streets of Bogotá, Colombia. While circulating the modernist junction, a self-made sound system attached to the cart plays hypnotic loops of cumbia rhythm fragments taken from Discos Fuentes records , the oldest record label of South America. The confrontation of these cumbia rhythms and the circulation of the cart with the roundabout and its regular transit appears as a disruptive ritualistic action that confronts the urban plan of the city. The dislocated placement of the round about resonates with the displacement of many street vendors outside Bogota centro, caused by the urban policies imposed in the city the time the video was made.
